I am not dying, Stop thinking about succession: Mugabe pacifies war vets

A summary of what was discussed and agreed between war veterans and President Robert Mugabe: “Stop jostling for the presidency, I am not dying yet. Stop thinking about succession”.

These words reflect an outcome that many were already suspecting.

Mugabe one War Vets zero.

Here Mugabe has managed to send a loud and clear message to all war vets and factions that were expecting him to announce his intention to resign. He is there to stay.

Judging from his statement, President Mugabe is there for the long haul and now that he has managed to control and pacify war veterans he can reach his 100 years mission as stated during his birthday interview.

As a reward for their support for Zanu PF, war veterans will get free plots that have already been guaranteed by his excellency.

From now on the war veterans indaba will become an annual event.

The meeting was attended by Zanu PF and Zimbabwe’s most powerful including Defence Minister and Secretary Sydney Sekeramayi, State Security Minister Kembo Mohadi, Home Affairs Minister Ignatius Chombo,  Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Constantine Chiwenga, Zimbabwe National Army Commander Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda, Air Force of Zimbabwe Commander Air Marshal Perence Shiri, Commissioner General of Police Augustine Chihuri, Commissioner General of Prisons Retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi and Director General of Central Intelligence Organisation Retired Major General Happyton Bonyongwe.

While the factions are making noise and barking at each other like small dogs, there is only one lion they fear in the house; President Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
