Breaking: 5 people killed in Chitungwiza Kombi accident today

Chitungwiza: 5 passengers were killed on the spot today when a commuter omnibus they were travelling in from Mbare to Chitungwiza overturned after one of its back wheels burst.

The accident happened near Koala Meat abattoir.

National police spokesperson Mrs Charity Charamba confirmed the accident, saying more details are still coming in as police officers are still on the scene of the accident.

Meanwhile, eye witnesses told reporters that the commuter omnibus overturned and rolled several times before landing on its roof and several passengers were injured, some of them seriously.

The injured are being treated at  Chitungwiza General Hospital.

The deceased were taken to a local mortuary for post mortem.
