Govt abandons netball team in Mbare without food?? PICTURES

ZIMBABWE government has been accused of dumping the National Netball team after promising to fly them to Uganda for a friendly match ahead of their World Cup appearance in Liverpool, England, this year.

By the time of reporting, the Zimbabwe National Netball team known as the Zim Gems were reportedly still in Mbare  without proper accommodation facilities including bedding after the government claimed they had fully funded their travel.

LEAD Zimbabwe President Linda Masarira posted pictures of the girls who appear to have been sleeping on thin floor mats while camping in Mbare.

Said Masarira:

“Government promised the ZimGems travel to their friendly game. Remember tweet by the Ministry of Information? Well the girls are stranded in Mbare. No food. No plan. What a shame. They have missed their game. They are hungry.”
