A new Statutory Instrument (SI) has been issued to penalise businesses who fail to provide proof of having paid duty when they were procured.
According to the SI if a business is found in possession of the listed goods, and cannot show Zimbabwe Revenue Authority proof that they paid duty for them, will be “deemed to have smuggled the goods and liable to payment of the duty thereof, including applicable penalties.
