A row over how her two eggs had been cooked for breakfast without consent is thought to have led a Gokwe woman to burst into anger, killing her own daughter.

Mercy Marigo is reported to have hit Tapuwanashe with a burning log resulting in the daughter feeling unconscious.

Neighbours who chronicled the ordeal said she just got mad at her daughter for cooking eggs without her consent and angrily threw a burning log on Tapuwanashe’s head resulting in her being unconscious.

The sources added that upon realizing the consequences the mother rushed her to a local hospital where she was declared dead upon arrival.

Gladys Marigo a sister, said witnesses told her that Mercy just got infuriated by the fact that her daughter had prepared two eggs for breakfast of which she had reserved them for evening meal.

This did not go well with the mother who angrily threw a burning log to Tapuwanashe’s face later on leading to the tragic event.

Gladys also reported that her sister has since been nabbed at Shurugwi police station and is now awaiting trial at the magistrates’ court.
