Former Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has died.
He was 84.
Mphoko’s passing has been confirmed by presidential spokesperson George Charamba.
Born on June 11, 1940, Mphoko was a prominent Zimbabwean politician, diplomat, businessman, and military leader.
He served as the Second Vice-President of Zimbabwe from 2014 until 2017 and held the position of ambassador to several countries, including Russia, Botswana, and South Africa.
