8 Chipinge businesses lose goods in shop inferno

CHIPINGE: About 8 small scale business persons lost goods worth thousands of dollars when a fire whose cause is yet to be confirmed burnt down a building in the town today.

Solomon Mutunzi arrived at his property to receive the shock of his life as he found his shop in ashes following a fire that broke out reportedly early this morning and destroyed everything.

Mutunzi said eight business persons were renting his shop including those into refrigeration, computers, stoves, sewing machines and groceries and most if not all had no insurance cover.

The eight small scale business persons whose property was burnt could not be reached for comment as they do not open on Sunday.

Residents who witnessed the disaster urged the Fire Unit Department to increase its responsiveness to avoid such huge losses. zbc
