AWCON 2016 tournament hosts Cameroon are hoping to end their silverware drought when they lock horns with the Super Falcons of Nigeria today at 330PM on Saturday, 3 December.
Nigeria has won the tournament more than any other nation and are hopping to upset the lionesses at their own backyard.
Nigeria striker Desire Oparanozie scored the only goal against a disciplined South Africa to earn her side a place in the final of the African Women’s Cup of Nations against Cameroon.
Cameroon progressed to the finals following a 1-0 win over Ghana via a scrappy goal on 71 minutes, when Raissa Feudijo scored after Njoya Ajara’s effort had been cleared off the line.
South Africa lost 1-nil to Ghana in a third place playoff played yesterday, Friday.
