Father kicks 6 months old baby to death

A 30 year old man has appeared before courts on allegations of kicking his 6 months old son to death.

The monster man had an argument with his wife, the baby’s mother at the time of the incident.

Chamunorwa Mavhunga has since  appeared before Harare magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti to answer murder charges.

The court heard that on December 6 at House No. 13464 Consortium, Hatcliffe, Mavhunga had an alteration with his wife, Ndakarevei Madyo.

It is alleged that during the altercation Madyo was holding the baby in her hands.

Mavhunga is alleged to have punched his wife before hitting her with stones. The State alleges that during the process, Mavhunga heavily kicked the baby who was being held by his wife and he fell to the ground.

Madyo is said to have taken the baby to Parirenyatwa where he received some medication and was released.

The child later died at home.

The child’s father was arrested soon after.
