False court start for violent ZANU-PF youths

Charles Mabhena

ZANU-PF youths who beat up Transform Zimbabwe members and their partners at a cleanup campaign last Saturday appeared at the Chitungwiza magistrates Courts.

Roronzi Togaraseyi, Blessing Chinyengetere and Anyway Chandeangerwa were brought to court but proceedings could not start as the State was still processing medical affidavits of the victims of Saturday violence.

The three are still at the police station where they are contesting further detention.

Four people were severely beaten and later hospitalized, when the youths pounced on the cleaners attacking them with rakes, shovels and brooms. They accused the cleaners of de-campaign  ZANU-PF government through their clean-up campaign.

TZ has forged an alliance with residents, civic and local authorities to campaign for disease free communities.  Over the past two months they have been cleaning and removing garbage in high density areas of Chitungwiza and Glen View in Harare.
