ED visits Matebeleland South

The Matabeleland South Provincial Development Committee (PDC) met in Gwanda this Wednesday to access preparations ahead of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s visit to Gwanda this Friday.

President Mnangagwa is expected to handover heifers and cows sourced under the Command Livestock Programme to farmers at the Gwanda show grounds, before addressing a rally at Phelandaba Stadium in the provincial capital.

The PDC said the coming of President Mnangagwa to Matabeleland South Province will afford the local leadership an opportunity to lobby for the resuscitation of the Zimcan beef processing and canning factory, development and expansion of irrigation schemes to boost food production, and improvement of major roads. state media
