A Zvishavane couple ruled the day when the groom was arrested for fraud before he could kiss his newly found life partner zwnews.com can exclusively reveal.
The arrest comes as the ramifications of a grudge between James Khumalo and his ex-wife Patience Mukucha who reported the groom to the police as a way to disturb the wedding.
Khumalo who happens to be a cross boarder transporter is believed to be on the police wanted list on allegations of fraud committed in South Africa.
An impeccable source that is also a close relative to the groom told this reporter that Khumalo’s ex- wife is responsible for all the drama that marred the wedding.
“I know that Mukucha is the one behind all this mayhem, she has always been a problem ever since she heard that Khumalo was to remarry” said a relative who identified himself as Severino Khumalo
The groom was arrested just when he arrived at the wedding venue at Danai gardens before his fiancé arrived.
“Everyone was sitting at the wedding venue waiting impatiently for the couple to arrived, all hell broke loose when the police details at the venue were all over the place and incarcerated the groom.
We remained at the venue mouths agape and hands akimbo; we did not know what to do. The bride arrived at the venue only to be welcomed by the saddening news that her lover was now in police custody,” said the source.
Efforts to get a comment from the police were fruitless.
