Adonia Makombe, Nyika Chifamba and Sahungwe Hungwe were forced to abandon their Teviotdale Farm in Harare two weeks ago after the former first lady, Grace Mugabe, together with her sons set thugs on them.

The people who had repossessed the farm after being granted permission by the High Court to do so said they decided to occupy the farm as Grace continued playing delaying tactics by continuously indicating that she would appeal against the High Court judgement that went in their favour.

Hungwe said:

We also wanted to make sure that she doesn’t start farming on our land and then use that as a basis for her continued stay.

When she came in the company of her bouncers, she claimed that the farm belonged to her son Chatunga … and because of the aggression of the bouncers, we decided to leave and made a report at Borrowdale Police Station.

Grace had grabbed the land from them when her political career reached its climax but the government recently invited individuals whose lands had been taken to apply for repossession.
