Details: Bona-Simba Chikore divorce confirmed, Mugabe daughter demands cash for child support

Bona Mugabe, the daughter of the late former President Robert Mugabe, has reportedly initiated divorce proceedings against her husband of nine years, Simbarashe Mutsahuni Chikore.

The couple got married in 2014 during Mugabe’s reign, with the extravagant wedding costing nearly US$4 million and attended by 4000 guests, including state officials.

Bona filed divorce summons (HC 1521/2023) on Tuesday at the High Court in Harare, citing irretrievable breakdown of the marriage and loss of affection.

She is seeking full custody of their children and monthly maintenance of USD 8,100 for three children until they attain majority status or become self-sustaining.

Bona has reportedly moved out to her father’s Blue Roof mansion, while Simba remains at the house along Quorn Avenue that they were gifted by President Mugabe as a couple.
