Dynamos beat Highlanders on penalties to lift 2017 Uhuru Cup

Dynamos has lifted this year’s Independence Cup after beating Highlanders 3-2 on penalties.

The match went to spot kicks after it finished 1-1 in regular time.

Dynamos took the initiative with a Masimba Member strike in the 58th minute, Bosso’s Ralph Matem levelled the scores in injury time after the game had gone on for   96 minutes  with the Harare giants in control.

Highlanders initially looked more comfortable when they led in penalty stats after Dynamos missed their first two attempts.

However, they  missed on the price after Matema, Munawa and Maduhwa failed to score with Dynamos converting their remaining three.

The Harare club has now won the Uhuru Cup for a record 8 times. zimnews
