Battle of Master and Apprentice..Mugabe Hangs ED Mnangagwa by his twos

Unpredictable Robert Mugabe has broken the heart of ED Mnangagwa, his longest serving bodyguard who risked own life to protect the president from enemies within and outside Zanu.

After losing  the Justice ministerial post to CIO Director and G40 affiliate Mr Happyton Bonongwe, Mnangagwa is fired from Government and Zanu PF.

Mnangagwa was in cabinet and close to the President before independence and since 1980 as shown below..

  • First Minister of National Security from 1980 to 1988
  • From 1988 to 2000, he was Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and Leader of the House.
  • Acting Minister of Finance for 15 months from 1995 to 1996.
  • Elected as Speaker of Parliament on 18 July 2000-2005.
  • Minister of Rural Housing and Social Amenities 2005-2006.
  • Minister of Defence 2009-2013.
  • Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs 2013-2017.

*Stripped of his ministerial post on 9th of October 2017.

On the day Mnangagwa lost the ministerial post a government source based in Harare revealed to Zimnewsnet that ‘Mnangagwa has also been asked to prepare for the worst.’

‘He will soon lose the Vice President post in both  Zanu PF and Government,’ Zimnewsnet reported on October, 9th.

A close source said up to yesterday,  Mnangagwa served Mugabe with his whole heart and would do anything to make his boss happy.

A tough bodyguard, Mnangagwa put his life on the line to protect Mugabe during the armed struggle following independence.

He is reportedly heartbroken and sorrowful that his relationship with Mugabe had to end in a very bad way.

President Mugabe has,  in terms of  the Constitution of Zimbabwe relieved ED Mnangagwa of his duties as vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe in a press statement announced late on Monday.

Sources say the country’s 93-year-old leader still has affection for Mnangagwa and he had to ask Simon Khaya Moyo to do the hangman’s job against a man whose 60 years plus political career was wholly devoted to protect Robert Mugabe.
