Through a Ministerial circular councillor’s monthly allowance has been increased by over 200% to USD75 a month.
Other new perks now include motor bikes loan facility to do daily community work & a free grave.
In a circular dated 26 September 2024, addressed to all mayors and chairpersons the minister said the new allowances take immediate effect.
