There was chaos and panic today(Saturday afternoon) when a Nandos Restaurant building in Bulawayo collapsed injuring customers and damaging cars.
The injured people were taken to a local government hospital for treatment while those who survived the disaster were left wondering why the accident happened in the first place.
The accident caught many people by surprise and the fire brigade had to be at its best to free trapped people, see pictures.
This is not the first time a Nandos shop has collapsed in Bulawayo.
Another Bulawayo branch opposite Tredgold curved in while customers were inside.
Speaking about the problem, former state media editor Mduduzi Mathuthu accused the outlet of not doing enough to protect their customers; “blaming cyclone won’t wash. Hope these people will be properly compensated,” he said.
There were reports earlier on suggesting that the collapse was caused by a car that rammed into the building; this has not been confirmed or denied.
