The Civil Registry Department has deployed mobile teams for the issuance of identity documents.
The department says this is in line with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s drive to register more people ahead of the much anticipated polls set for this year.
The main purpose of the exercise was to reach out to all eligible Zimbabweans to obtain birth certificates, national identity documents as well as death certificates.
The documents will be issued at no cost with some of the registration requirements set to be relaxed to cater for as many people as possible.
The department added that the national mobile registrations exercise will give citizens across the country easy access to documents, and is expected to dovetail with the national thrust of leaving no one and no place behind as the country march towards attainment of the National Vision 2030.
