Norton Independent Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa says the Central Intelligence Organization used to be respected and feared, but not anymore because of corruption.
Mliswa was responding to a report alleging that two CIO operatives had been fired from work for exposing corruption involving their bosses.
“This never used to happen in the CIO. The institution used to be one which people respected and feared.
“And it was proper that way because as a state security agency it should be held in such esteem. However after people like Mudha, CIO yaora. People have no respect for it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mliswa is on record saying the institution has lost its esteem.
