Four people died this morning and several others were injured in a fatal accident involving a Triptrans bus on route to Lusaka Zambia from Harare. The accident occurred around 9 am along the Harare-Chirundu highway 20km after Makuti.
Multiple people on board the bus survived with different degrees of injuries and were immediately taken to hospital.
Three of the deceased died on the spot while the fourth one died at Makuti clinic where the injured were ferried for medical attention.
Overspeeding is the likely cause of the accident.
The accident comes as a number of people dying from road accidents has been increasing since the beginning of December.
