Chihuri
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri last week criticised the controversial national pledge introduced by education Minister Mr Lazarus Dokora.
He said Dokora’s policy was dragging pupils into idolatry.
Speaking in Masvingo at Phoenix in Masvingo, Chihuri warned teachers and headmasters in attendance to safeguard Christian standards which he said were under threat from Dokora.
“…are there any teachers here? I ask them because I want to warn them of evil that is being spread through initiatives in the education sector which we must stop if we are real Christians. Some of the initiatives are clearly an indication of idolatry,” Chihuri said while quoting bible verses.
“I hear these initiatives come from a semi-bold headed man with a lot of beard but please, don’t listen to him,” Chihuri said.
