Chaos as Zanu PF, MDC Vanguard youth clash during UZ SRC elections

Opposition MDC youths and ZANU PF youths reportedly clashed yesterday evening at University of Zimbabwe during Student Representative Council(SRC) elections.

The two camps accuse each other of rigging votes and disrupting the electoral process through their student affiliates.

Blaming Zanu PF camp for the chaos one Makomborero wrote:

Serious violence @UniversityOfZim campus as Zanu-PF youths are stoning students and University security in a bid to steal ballot boxes following a humiliating SRC defeat for Zanu-PF aligned students movement ZICOSU. Stones and machetes everywhere.

But the ruling party backed youths fired back, pointing at MDC Vanguard as the cause of the problem:

News Alert. Criminal Vanguard Unleashes Violence At UZ. The MDC A’ s terror militant wing, Vanguard, led by Pride Mkono and Makomborero Haruziviishe who are not students ; unleashed violence at students who were patiently waiting for election results.
