South African musician Yvonne Chaka Chaka survived a deadly shootout involving local police and armed robbers on Tuesday this week.
Talking to her followers via twitter, Chaka Chaka was grateful to be alive after a close call with death.
According to to the singer’s account, she was caught in a crossfire between police officers and hijackers in Midrand, South Africa, yesterday.
The singer also made it clear that she was not injured or directly affected by the shooting which happened few metres from where she was.
According to the Midrand Reporter, one hijacking suspect was killed during the shootout with cops and another injured. Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told the paper “The men were being chased by police at the time. Two suspects were shot, one died at the scene and another was wounded,” he said.
