CCC president Nelson Chamisa arrives at Kuwadzana 2 Primary School to cast his vote

CCC President Nelson Chamisa verifies his name on the voters roll

Voting is underway to elect 28 Members of Parliament and 121 councillors across Zimbabwe in by-elections.

The by-elections were necessitated by the recalling of Movement for Democratic Change Alliance members by the then Douglas Mwonzora led Movement for Democratic Change Tsvangirai (MDC-T).

Meanwhile, the main opposition party Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa says it is using poll to ‘test the system’ amid allegations of plots to manipulate the vote.

CCC president Nelson Chamisa has arrived at Kuwadzana 2 Primary School in Kuwadzana East Constituency where he is voting.

Apparently, this year’s by-elections has attracted more attention in that it is acting as a curtain raiser for the 2023 general elections.

Some critics believe the by-elections will help gauge the contesting parties’ popularity and strength ahead of the do or die general elections set for next year.
