CAPS United fire 6 senior players over strike, salary dispute

ZIMBABWE Premier Soccer League giants, CAPS United have reportedly dismissed SIX senior players including Devon Chafa, Denis Dauda, Clive Augusto, Ronald Chitiyo and Rodwell Chinyengetere after strike action on Sunday which delayed league match against Cranborne Bullets.

The players were protesting over poor salaries and unpaid bonuses. They reportedly did not meet at the team hotel but grouped at a different location.

They only arrived at the National Sports Stadium with private vehicles thirty minutes after the scheduled kick-off and did not hold a warm-up session.

United went on to lose the encounter 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Brian Muzondiwa.

The Green Machine players have since been paid their outstanding two-game winning bonuses but club bosses wield axe on ring leaders.
