Picture: Tendai Biti’s house destroyed by fire, Burnt down by Zanu PF?

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Tendai Biti’s homestead in Murewa was on Sunday night burnt to the ground in a suspected arson attack, it has been revealed.

There are strong suspicions that this is the signature work of well known thugs belonging to President Mugabe’s Zanu PF party.

According to sources on the ground, all property at the homestead was destroyed.

A report has since been made to the police but no arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, PDP has sent the message below to inform its followers about the Murewa house fire at Biti’s:

Please  note that the rural homestead of President Biti in Murewa was burnt down on Sunday evening by some people yet to be identified.

Everything was destroyed. We only thank God that no one was injured.

We condemn in strongest terms the perpetrators of this malicious destruction of property. We hope the police will do their work and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Our prayers as a Party are with President Biti’s family as it goes through this difficult moment.

Tendai Biti has not yet made a statement on the incident.
