A former Zanu PF Member of Parliament has urged the party to bring back its former members who left after being labelled as factionalists and get rid of erstwhile opposition members who defected to the ruling party in recent years.
According to ex-Chivi South legislator, Killer Zivhu, the then opposition MDC members who have been praise-singing Zanu PF 2023 candidate and Zimbabwe leader Emmerson Mnangagwa, are of no value to the long-ruling party- in power since Zimbabwe’s attainment of independence from the jaws of company colonial rule in 1980.
Zivhu singled out outspoken MDC defectors who include former Kwekwe MP, Blessing Chebundo, MDC-T’s former vice president Obert Gutu and Tongai Matutu who was legislator for Masvingo Urban, saying their existence serve no purpose in Zanu PF’s pursuit to win the next elections to be held in 2023.
Fired from Zanu PF under unclear circumstances, Zivhu said the upcoming harmonised elections were not “as easy as riding one’s girlfriend, wife or side chick (sic)”.
“I will repeat and repeat it again,” said Zivhu in comments posted on his Twitter handle.
“People like Chebundo, Gutu , Matutu and the rest , are of no value to Zanu PF at all. Bring back the so called G40 and Gamatokisi members to the Party, 2023 is not easy as riding one’s girlfriend, wife or side chick”.
The former Chivi South MP was fired from Zanu PF amid accusations that he was working on a suspicious ploy to bring First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa and Citizens Coalition for Change President Nelson Chamisa’s wife, Sithokozile, to the roundtable.
