The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has with immediate effect banned its members from retiring until they reach pensionable age. Retired police officers are now under surveillance as the police force alleges that some of them have been involved in organizing demonstrations against the government.
The ban has been necessitated by the police receiving numerous retirement requests.
