Former Studio 263 actress Anne Nhira who acted as Vimbai Jari in the soap has died.
She was 38 years old.
Her brother Juan Nhira confirmed the news.
“She sustained injuries on her chest area, rib cage and back during a robbery on Monday afternoon in Bedford view South Africa.
“She was only 38 years of age,” he said.
Nhira was one of the most popular Zimbabwean actresses, model, film producer and talent manager who rose to prominence in the early 2000s and became the darling for many, when she featured in the soap opera Studio 263.
Nhira also tried her hand in singing in 2013 when she released a single, “The One”.
She was based in Johannesburg where she has been since 2008.
At the time of her death, she was also a presenter on Radio54 African PanaramaLive, a radio station founded by former ZBC broadcaster Eric Knight.
She was broadcasting from the station’s South African Studios.
