Boy (12) rapes neighbour (3) after watching bedroom video

Experimenting after watching a bedroom video has landed a 12-year-old Lupane boy in dock after he was convicted for raping his three-year-old neighbour at a school cottage.

Appearing before Regional Magistrate, Mr Collet Ncube facing a charge of rape, the juvenile who cannot be named because he is a minor, told the court that he decided to experiment after watching a pornographic video on a friend’s cellphone.

The juvenile was convicted on his own plea of guilty before being cautioned and discharged.

Sentencing Regional Magistrate Collet Ncube said:

“I have taken into account that you have pleaded guilty to the charge, didn’t waste the court’s time and that you are 12 years old. The court also notes that at 12 years you are still able to reform and have taken into account that the commission the offence was as a result of exposure to pornographic material. 

“As a young man entering puberty, you acted foolishly by trying to experiment because of the hormonal changes taking place in your body. Your conduct is unacceptable and wrong. You committed a serious offence and what saves you is your age. I will agree with the recommendation of the probation officer. You are hereby cautioned and discharged as well as placed under the supervision of a probation officer for two years,” he said. Source Sunday News
