France based Tino Kadewere and Marshal Munetsi might still make it for the Warriors’ 2022 Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia.
The two had been ruled out of coach Zdravko Logarusic’s plans as European clubs have been declining to release players for internationals due to Covid-19.
Kadewere’s team — Lyon — had indicated earlier that the striker would not make it, while Munetsi’s side, Stade Reims, were still to confirm of his availability.
Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare confirmed the development.
“There is hope for them to come and we are keeping our fingers crossed. “We are hoping that what we are trying to pursue will succeed.
“I can’t say much at the moment because the negotiations are still at a delicate stage, but there is hope,” he said.
Strikers Khama Billiat and Prince Dube won’t play because of injuries.
