The First Lady, Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa today took the free cervical and breast cancer screening and awareness programme to more than 10000 members of the Mugodhi Apostolic Church at Chitope in Hwedza.
The event saw hundreds of women undergoing the free cervical and breast cancer screening programme.
Cde Mnangagwa applauded the church for taking an active role in the prevention of cancer.
Dr Benard Madzima from the Ministry of Health and Child Care said reaching out to hundreds of people is what is important in the fight against cancer.
Members of the church applauded the first lady for advocating for good health of all citizens.The leader of the church, Bishop Tadheyo Mugodhi said what the government is doing is what the nation needs for development.
After hearing of the challenges faced by the church, the First Lady pledged to drill a borehole for the church headquarters at Chitope and donated two tonnes of rice for orphans under the care of the church. zbc
