ARRESTED? Former US President Donald Trump hit with 34 criminal charges

Eliot Higgins shared AI-generated images of former President Donald Trump being arrested, which have since gone viral on Twitter.

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has been indicted on 34 criminal charges related to business fraud in connection with a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels that dates to the 2016 presidential election.

The indictment, which is still under seal, was handed down by a New York grand jury and is expected to be unsealed soon.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and media outlets will not be allowed to broadcast the historic moment live. Instead, five still photographers will be allowed to photograph Trump in the courtroom before the hearing begins.

Trump is expected to hold an event at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday evening that will give him a chance to respond to the charges.

His attorneys are not currently considering asking for a change of venue, and it is unclear whether Trump will speak immediately after his arraignment.
