TWO armed robbers were arrested on Thursday in Mazhawidza village for allegedly breaking into former First Lady Grace Mugabe’s Chivhu rural bedroom.
The NewsDay reports that the alleged suspects where caught red-handed while carrying property which had been stolen from the residence.
Simbarashe Chokera (25) of Chivhu and Julias Monera (21) from Buhera appeared before Chivhu regional magistrate Fadzi Mutombeni on Friday facing five counts of armed robbery and unlawful entry charges which occurred in Chief Musarurwa’s area.
The court heard that the duo is reported to have committed a series of robberies in the Chivhu area before they were nabbed.
They pleaded guilty and were remanded in custody to today for sentencing.
