ANC is where ZANU-PF was in 1990s, these ex-liberation parties don’t learn- Jonathan Moyo

Exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo says the African National Congress of South Africa should have learnt from ZANU PF which a irreversible fallout with main labour movement.

“The booing of @MYANC’s SG, Gwede Mantashe, off the stage at Congress of South African Trade Union’s national congress echoes the ZCTU & ZanuPF fallout in Zimbabwe in the 1990s.

“Once the fallout manifests publicly, it becomes irreversible. It’s a pity that ex-liberation movements don’t learn from each other,” says Moyo.

In the 1990s, ZANU PF had a fallout with the country’s main labour movement, the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions.

This saw the then ZCTU boss Morgan Tsvangirai going on to launch his political party, Movement for Democratic Change.
