Alex Magaisa’s body embarks on its final journey

The late renowned academic Alex Magaisa’s body will make its final journey to his beloved Njanja today for burial.

It will pass through all those places he used to write about as it heads towards that mountain he made famous, Gandamasungo.

This is painful last journey for all those whose hearts he touched through his detailed and objective writing.

Magaisa’s body arrived at the Robert Mugabe International Airport from UK on Saturday.

Yesterday a memorial service was conducted at Harare Showgrounds where those who knew him chronicled his life journey.

The service was well attended, those present included renowned investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, Citizens Coalition for Change president Nelson Chamisa, Prof Arthur Mutambara, Ibbo Mandaza, Simba Makone among others.
