Moses Tembe father of Anele “Nelli” Tembe passes his condolences

Moses Tembe, father of Anele “Nelli” Tembe, the late girlfriend of slain rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, said on Saturday the family was pained and shocked by his brutal murder.

The prominent businessman said in a statement: “It is with deepest shock that we’ve learnt of the passing of Kiernan.”

Tembe said as a parent he felt “deep pain” for Forbes’ parents Tony and Lynn, his daughter Kairo and the extended family.

“Kiernan was an extraordinarily talented musician. His music contributed meaningfully to South Africa’s rich musical tapestry. We extend our condolences to his extended family his fans.”

Tembe appealed to the public “to show compassion and give the family space, time and respect on all platforms”.

Nelli died in April 2021 after falling to her death apparently from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. The circumstances around her death were under investigation.

At the time Tembe told TshisaLIVE the family had “decided not to speculate about police inquiry findings”.

AKA’s ex manager Tibz identified as 2nd victim

AKA’s former manager who is also his friend and celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Mostoane was also killed alongside the rapper.

A video of the attending officer on the scene shares more light as to what happened during the shooting. It is reported that AKA and Tibz, who was mistaken for his security intel, were having dinner in Morningside, Durban. As they were leaving the restaurant to head to their car that was when two unknown gunmen shot and instantly killed AKA and Tibz.

Tributes from their fellow ZAlebs have been pouring since the early hours of Saturday, 11 February 2023. This is as many ZAlebs are processing the surprising news of the untimely death of AKA.

This is as just hours before, AKA had set up a hotline to interact with his fans ahead of the release of his fifth solo studio album Mass Country.
