AKA murder suspects arrested

Three men have been apprehended by the police in connection with the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and are currently undergoing interrogation.

The trio was caught in Belhar in the Western Cape over the weekend.

The investigation team had been trailing the alleged hitmen for several weeks after the murders of AKA and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane in Durban on February 10.

AKA had been to Wish Restaurant for food and drinks before his scheduled birthday celebrations performance at Yugo, a Durban night club, where he and Tibz were later shot on Florida Road. Sources close to the investigation reported that the suspects would pose as Sassa agents and offer to assist people in registering for grants, going door to door.

The police’s investigation led them to Belhar, where they observed the gang’s movements before arresting them.

The officers also discovered a white Mercedes-Benz that is believed to have been used as the getaway car on the night of AKA’s murder and are currently searching it for fingerprints and other clues to aid the investigation.

The suspects were found in an area known to be the home of the notorious “Sexy Boys” gang.
