AFM Pastor Demands US$ From Poor Congregants…Humiliates Those Who Can’t Pay

Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) congregants at Chivi Growth Point have come out guns blazing at their pastor Josiah Mudimu who they accuse of humiliating them for failing to pay US$100 which is meant for the procurement of a commuter bus.

The Congregants who spoke to the Mirror complained that Pastor Mudimu ordered all parishioners to pay US$100 each towards the project but the target is far too out of reach for the parishioners because of the harsh economic times.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the congregants jointly revealed that those who did not pay were called to the front of the church where they were humiliated by being asked questions as to why they were failing to pay the amount.

The sources told The Mirror that some congregants have since stopped coming to church as a result of what they described as harassment.

“You feel harassed and humiliated when you are asked to stand in front of the church and explain why you can’t pay US$100 for the kombi. Some church members have since stopped coming to church to avoid embarrassment,” said a congregant who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals.

Congregants are also complaining that even if they pay money for development at the church they are not given receipts.

However, Pastor Mudimu refused  to comment  on the matter
