3 arrested while selling fresh lion head in Victoria Falls CBD

A ZRP Police  Report| The ZRP is warning the public from buying meat from unverified sources and dealing with any wildlife products without a licence. On 10/11/19 at about 1900 hours, Police in Victoria Falls arrested 5 men for contravening the Parks and Wildlife Act.

3 suspects were found selling a fresh lion head and skin in Victoria Falls CBD. The lion remains were in a Toyota GAIA vehicle and after arrest, the 3 suspects led the Police to the other 2 accomplices at Katombora National Parks.

Impala horns, Impala skin, Kudu horns, Kudu skin and Warthog teeth were also recovered. The accused persons will appear in court soon.

 

In other news, 3 male adults were arrested in Figtree after they were found transporting 600 litres of diesel in plastic containers. They were fined for contravening provisions of Environmental Management Authority Statutory Instrument 268/18 and the fuel has since been forfeited to the State.
