10 yrs jail for bedding friend’s wife

Tinashe Zisengwe

If the one who coined the Shona adage Husahwira hunokunda hukama(fa firend is better than your kinsmen) was alive today, surely he would have got a thourough beating by a man from Rushinga who was recently betrayed by his friend who took advantage of his absence and raped his wife.

Blood will always be thicker than water as evidenced by Chirangano Mubaiwa of Kunesi Village under Chief Rusambo who betrayed his friend by pouncing on his wife (name supplied) whilst in her kitchen hut and tripped her to the ground.

He then raped her once before vanishing into thin air.

At first the woman tried to keep the issue to herself, but informed her husband the following day due to guilt conscience.

The two agreed to file a police report at a local station resulting in the arrest of the accused.

Mubaiwa appeared before Regional Magistrate Sandra Mupindu denying the allegations, but was slapped with 10 years in jail.

Two were suspended since he is a first offender.
